One of the important requirements for hearing evaluation is a calibrated audiometer. In the absence of the equipment (SPL meter with octave filter set, artificial ear with condenser microphone, artificial mastoid and Bruel & Kjaer equipment) required for calibration of audiometers, the audiologists and the otolaryngologists have to rely on biological calibration. This paper deals with an objective-biological calibration of audiometers. Further, some guidelines on biological calibration have been provided for the benefit of those who do not have access to the literature concerned with this topic.en_US
