dc.description.abstract | The present study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of two intervention procedures for tinnitus sufferers, Notched music therapy and White noise therapy. Two groups with five participants each, with chronic continuous tonal tinnitus were included in the study. Each of the two therapy groups had five participants who received therapy for 20 sessions of one hour each. For evaluating the efficacy of two therapy techniques, the measures considered were: Tinnitus loudness measured through loudness matching procedure and Tinnitus Severity Index Questionnaire (TSIQ) scores. The results revealed that both the therapy techniques provided significant benefit in treating tinnitus. However, notched music therapy was found to provide more benefit than white noise therapy, though this difference was not statistically significant. | en_US |
