dc.description.abstract | This study aimed to evaluate the usefulness of aided speech evoked ABR in prescription of hearing aid. As a preliminary study, adults with different degrees of sensorineural hearing loss were chosen as subjects. Results of both functional gain measurements (SIS) and Speech evoked ABR were compared in unaided, aided 1 and aided 2 conditions. Results revealed that there was no difference between the unaided and the aided conditions for speech evoked ABR measures. Extent of agreement between the functional gain measurements and the speech evoked ABR was just at chance level. Therefore it was concluded that speech evoked ABR may not be successfully used for fitting hearing aids. | en_US |
