A High Frequency- English Speech Identification Test (HF-ESIT) was developed to assess individuals with a sloping high frequency hearing loss. Initially the material was developed after which it was administered on 30 normal hearing individuals. Following this the test was administered on 10 individuals with bilateral sloping high frequency sensorineural hearing loss. The result of HF-ESIT was compared with the results of Monosyllabic English word Test (Rout,1996), which reveal that the HF-ESIT was a sensitive test for the assessment and selection of appropriate amplification for individuals with a bilateral sloping high frequency hearing loss.en_US
